DFV Assist is a CESPHN service that supports health professionals to identify and appropriately respond to domestic and family violence (DFV) and facilitate referral pathways to improve outcomes for patients. It is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health.
DFV Assist offers:
Online and face-to-face training for your practice. This training can be customised to meet the needs of individual practices. It covers creating a safe environment for disclosure, recognising the signs of DFV, responding appropriately, assessing for safety, referral pathways, and documenting DFV. This training is for clinical and administrative staff.
Online and face-to-face CPD events. These events cover many topics including supporting culturally and linguistically diverse patients experiencing DFV and elder abuse. Check out our CPD calendar regularly to see what training is scheduled.
A support service exclusively for health professionals that provides information on appropriate referrals and confidential advice on supporting patients affected by DFV.
